thinking of heading to Brin Rock at the weekend for a boulder. Just wondering if any locals can tell me if it is green over the winter or if it will be fine to climb on just now..
Cheers,
Andy

Winter is absolutely the best time to visit. Boulders face in all directions. Doesn't seem to catch much wind for drying purposes although if it hasn't rained for a couple of hours you're almost certain to get something done. Great spot, might head there myself this w/e if the weather plays ball.

Yes, go in the winter, it's great. Even if it's blowin a gale, the boulders are sheltered. If it's wet you might want to reconsider - Ruthven is probably quicker drying or the cave at cummingston.

Just back from a cracking afternoon at Brin. It was crystal clear with a sprinkling of snow on the boulders and a bit slippy underfoot. The boulders were bone dry, so conditions were perfect for me to get up a couple of V2s.
Forecast is for more of the same tomorrow.
