has anyone been there recently?  I see the guide is now up on the main SC page.  I went last summer, pretty late on (august maybe) and it looked like no one had climbed there for years! It was dirty, vegetated and damp but i thought id try a route anyway.  Got on 'short, sharp, shocked' i think it was called and when i got to the lower off it was all rusty and degraded and beyond use.  Shame, because theroute was great!  Glen ogle has been getting a bit of hype recently though so i was wondering if it had been revamped or cleaned or something?  I would love to go back actually, the climbing loooked good, maybe i just got it on a bad day!

you probably didn't get it on a bad day, it's just not very good.

We were climbing on the Sunny Side two weeks ago.  We found it very mossy and it looked as if it was neglected.  I thought the bolts/staples/lower offs were in good nick.

I was there last month and a few other times over the last year (all at the dark side) and thought it was quite good, I'll be going back too to see the rest of it. Definately seems to be a nicer experience earlier in the season when the midges and the brachen are down. The diamond butress is really good, most of the bolts are in good nick, all the holds are clean and the rock is sound. The next couple of crags along did seem to be a bit dirty and seldom climbed but still decent climbing and good bolts. I haven't seen much else of the glen though so can't really speak for the rest of it.  Maybe I've just got it on good days and not seen the bad bits?

I was up at Mirror Wall a couple of weeks ago and cycled through the glen last saturday. The dark side looked more overgrown than I have ever seen it and the routes on The Mirror all needed a brush to one degree or other.
Think there is a case for the MC of S to organise a rebolting of the routes. The dark side is very damp most of the year and few of the routes (circa mid 90's) were stainless bolts. Most were galvanised.
An organised campaign to re-equip and give a brush to the routes would no doubt inspire a "new wave of Glen Ogle" as much of the climbing though short is very good.

Hi.

Glad to see someone noticed  Wink

I did some work to bring the glen ogle pages up to a basic level. Although they are now at more of a starting point than a end point.

If anyone has anything to add that would be lovely...
